WOLTER Jules

(1907 - )
Rheydt (DE)

Jules WOLTER was born in 1907 in Rheydt/Mönchengladbach (DE). He was the son of Nicolas WOLTER (born 1874 in Lellingen) and Jeanne STRONCK (born 1878 in Lintgen). Nicolas WOLTER’s occupation was Eisenbahnbeamter/Bautechniker. The couple WOLTER-STRONCK resided in Germany where their children were born.

Jules WOLTER qualified as engineer and married Marie Josephine BRAUN, probably of German origin.

In the 1940s WOLTER resided in Luxembourg-city (22 rue Albert 1er). He became a member of the Association Luxembourgeoise des Ingénieurs et Industriels (A.L.I.I.).

He obtained two patents in Luxembourg. His first invention (1927) related to internal combustion turbines. He was only 20 years old and could hardly have completed his studies and have been employed by co-owners “Comptoir technique Albert Knaff & Leo Mayer”. His second invention (1947) related to his hunting hobby.

In 1937 WOLTER founded a Kompressoren- und Kühlenmaschinenfabrik in Bonnevoie, and in 1945 he transferred his factory to Pfaffenthal.

He divorced his wife Marie Josephine BRAUN in 1947 and two years later, in 1949, he obtained, just for his own use, the hunting rights for the Herrenberg (486 ha) in Diekirch for 9 years!

In 1951 he applied for an immigration permit to Brazil, and in 1952 he put his Pfaffenthal factory up for sale:

A vendre FONDS DE COMMERCE avec un lot important de machines et de matériel industriel. Pour cause de départ du propriétaire, le fonds de commerce avec les machines et installations …

WOLTER obtained a permit of permanent residency in Brazil in 1954.
He was searched for, however, in 1959 by a writ issued by the “Diekirch Hunting syndicate” declaring

him … sans domicile ni résidence connus.
It is not known when and where he died.
