(1863 - 1925)
Bous

Jean SCHILTZ was born in Bous/Remich in 1863. His father’s occupation was Leinweber. His father died in 1866 at the age of 29.
In April 1893 Jean SCHILTZ married Emilie Susanna EICKHOFF (daughter of a Küster) in Luxembourg-city. Jean was residing in Schrassig and his occupation was Müller.
The couple set up home in Luxembourg-city (Diedenhofenerstrasse) where their first child was born in September 1893. Jean SCHILTZ’s occupation was still Müller.
The family must have moved around 1894 to Erpeldingen/Bous where the second child was born. Jean SCHILTZ had become a Taglöhner.
By 1900 the family had moved to Luxembourg-Pfaffenthal where SCHILTZ had taken up again his original job as Müller. The family resided in Pfaffenthal Vaubanstrasse and later (1903) in Mansfeldergasse.
By 1905 the family had settled again in Bous and SCHILTZ was again a Taglöhner.
In 1907, when SCHILTZ applied for his patent in Luxembourg, he declared himself to be Müllermeister but in 1913, when SCHILTZ’s last child (10th) was born in Bous, his occupation was registered as Winzer.
Jean SCHILTZ died in 1925 in Luxembourg-city at the age of 62.
