LIBESKI Adolph Dagobert

(1856 - 1923)
Warsaw (PL)

Adolph Dagobert LIBESKI was born in Warsaw (Poland) in 1856.
In 1890 he married Maria Theresia SITTARD in London and presumably moved soon after to Aachen (DE), where Maria Theresia was born in 1871. Adolph’s occupation was Chimist.
The couple LIBESKI-SITTARD had three children, born in Aachen (1892 to 1894). It is not known how long the family stayed in Aachen.
There is evidence that LIBESKI resided in France from 1909 to 1911.
He probably left France for Luxembourg in 1911 and set up a company in Luxembourg-Hollerich by the name of

Laboratoire hygiénique Libesky Dagobert-Adolphe, Hollerich, 2 rue Juliette.
Fabrication de produits pharmaceutiques et hygiéniques et chirurgicaux.
Vente des produits pharmaceutiques et hygiéniques du Dr Williams.

He was joined in 1915 by his son Robert LIBESKI, born in 1892. Robert added new products to the company’s offer and also created a drink by the name of CHABESO which he produced in Luxembourg city.
Robert LIBESKI, however, abandoned his commercial activities in consumer goods and pursued a career in the arts. In 1921 he founded a Luxembourg company in his own name:

Ateliers d’arts appliqués, fabrication d’objets d’art pour décorations d’intérieur.

In the same year he moved to Paris. He became a respected painter

Adolph Dagobert LIBESKI died in 1923 in Luxembourg-Hollerich.
