Jean KRIER was the son of Johann KRIER (b. 1847 in Wellenstein) and Maria Margaretha SCHUMACHER (b. 1850 in Bech Kleinmacher). Johann KRIER’s occupation was Küfer und Winzer in Bech Kleinmacher.
Jean KRIER was the seventh child out of eleven.
In 2022 an article published in a local paper summarises KRIER’s career as follows:KRIER trained in Nancy to become a pâtissier. In 1908 he worked in Remiremont (Vosges). After additional training in Basel (CH) he took on a position in Cheltenham (UK) as confectioner in the “Maison Kunz, Chalet Suisse” run by the family Kunz.
Around 1918 KRIER took over the “Maison Kunz”.
In 1954 he sold his Cheltenham business.
Jean KRIER died in Cheltenham in 1978.
