KREMER Alphonse

(1851 - 1919)
Mertzig

Alphonse KREMER, born in 1851 in Mertzig (Feulen) under the name of Henri BLENKNER, was an illegitimate child of Maria Magdalena BLENKNER.
Magdalena BLENKNER was probably of German origin and returned with Alphonse to Germany (Altona/Kiel) where she married Friedrich TERLET.
Alphonse probably served in the Prussian Army where he obtained the grade of Lieutenant.
Nicolas KREMER (b. ca 1835) must have recognised Alphonse as his son prior to 1882 when the latter married Marie Anna OLINGER in Ettelbruck.
In 1877 Alphonse KREMER resided in Luxembourg-city and probably worked for the Draperies luxembourgeoises (Godchaux) company in Schleifmühl. He later took over the management of the subsidiary which the Godchaux company had established in Ettelbruck in 1870.
In the Marriage Register of 1882 Alphonse KREMER carried already the title of Fabrikdirector. In his patent of 1893, KREMER used the title of directeur de filature des Draperies luxembourgeoises.
Alphonse KREMER died in 1919 in Ettelbruck. His family gave him the following credentials in his death announcement:

Lieutenant en retraite
Ancien Directeur des Draperies du Schleifmuhl à Ettelbruck
