KESSELER Prosper

Prosper KESSELER was born in 1880 in Strassen, son of Arnould Joseph KESSELER (Steuer-Einnehmer) and Elisabeth HEMMER.
From 1890 to 1900 Prosper resided in Esch sur Alzette where his father had presumably been assigned by his employer.
In 1910, when Prosper married Maria Josephine TIBESAR in Ermsdorf, he resided in Strassen and his occupation was Handelsmann.
In 1919 he set up a “Fabrique de conserves alimentaires” in Strassen (277 route d’Arlon).
In 1954 Prosper’s sons Marcel (b.1911) and Roger (b.1912) took over the family company and continued to operate it under the name “Confiturerie & Confiserie KESSELER frères”.
The magazine REVUE provided an extensive report on the KESSELER company in 1974.
Prosper KESSELER died in 1954 in Strassen.
