GOERRES Nicolas

Heinrich Nicolas GOERRES was born in Trier in 1852. His father was a Schiffer. Nicolas became a Konditor and came to Luxembourg.
In 1884 he married Susanna LAURENT in Luxembourg-city and advertised as pâtissier-confiseur in Luxembourg-city (rue des Capucins 8).
In 1887 GOERRES transferred his enterprise to Avenue de la Gare 11, and in 1902 he opened a second shop in rue Chimay.
In 1910 he officially registered his establishment in Avenue de la Gare as Konditorei-Café.
His daughter Anna Maria Louise married Mathias MEYER (Konditor) in 1914 in Hollerich and the latter took over the family business under the trade name of MEYER-GOERRES.
It is not known when and where Nicolas GOERRES died.
