CHOMÉ Pierre
Pierre CHOMÉ was born in Luxembourg-city. His father Émile CHOMÉ was Director vom Roheisen-Syndikat (directeur du syndicat des forges).
In 1911 he graduated from the École industrielle et commerciale in Luxembourg-city and in 1915 he qualified as Maschineningenieur at the K. Technischen Hochschule of Charlottenburg (Berlin).
He joined ARBED in Esch sur Alzette and became Walzwerkschef of Arbed-Belval.
In September 1942 CHOMÉ and his family were “deported”.
In 1945 he was appointed director of the Burbach steel works and was named Luxembourg consul for Saarland which was under French administration at the time.
After his retirement from ARBED, CHOMÉ kept his residence in Burbach and continued to act as Luxembourg’s consul in Saarbrücken.
He died in Zurich in 1954 at the age of 62.
