ELTZ Jean Baptiste

Vianden
ELTZ was born in Vianden on 24 December 1830. His father Reinhard ELTZ and his mother Anna Maria ALFF were both born in Vianden.
Reinhard ELTZ’s occupation was cloutier (1828), Handelsmann (1844), fabricant de syrop (1849) cabaretier (1851).
Jean Baptiste was educated at the Ecole industrielle in Luxembourg-city and became receveur communal in Vianden (1855 Census Vianden). As of 1858 he also acted as insurance agent.
In 1863, when he applied for a patent, he gave his occupation as fabricant de syrop.
In 1868 Jean Baptiste married Catharina MÜLLER (b. 1835 in Zittig). The couple had a child in 1869 but Catharina died a year later in 1870, and Jean Baptiste died in 1872, in Vianden.
