KAHN Max

Max KAHN (registered at birth as Marx KAHN) was born in Esch sur Alzette in 1884. He was the son of Meyer KAHN and Pauline MAYER.
Meyer KAHN’s occupation was Kaufmann.
Max KAHN also became a Kaufmann.
In 1908 he started a clothing shop (Damen-und Herrenbekleidung) in Esch sur Alzette (9 rue de la Gare) under the name of “Aux Villes de France”, to which he added in 1914 a separate shoe shop (10 rue de la Gare).
In 1917 Max associated with Henri MARNACH to create the company:

Max Kahn und Henri Marnach.
“Schuhfabrik Durable”
La société a commencé le 14 décembre 1917. Elle a pour objet la fabrication et la vente de chaussures, spécialement de chaussures fabriquées de bois et d’étoffes destinées à remplacer le cuir.

Max KAHN died in Luxembourg-city in 1920. He had remained single.
