STEIL-LEGRAS Pierre Adolphe

(1871 - )
Schuttrange

Pierre Adolphe STEIL was born in Schuttrange in 1871. His father Antoine STEIL was a Schreiner.
Pierre Adolphe went to Paris to train as a menuisier and met there Augustine LEGRAS, domestique, born in Ploëzal (FR). The couple had two children, born in 1894 and 1895, and married in 1896 in Paris, legitimising the two children.
The couple STEIL-LEGRAS initially resided in Longwy.
In 1901, however, STEIL set up a Bau- und Möbelschreinerei in Bonnevoie.
In 1902 he advertised his Roll-Läden & Jalousien-Fabrik and in 1903 he advertised as patentirter Jalousien-Fabrikant. He moved his atelier to Neypergstrasse in 1904.
In 1914, when STEIL obtained his third patent in Luxembourg he resided in Longwy. In 1916, however, when his second son died in Differdange, Pierre Adolphe resided in Esch sur Alzette. In 1928, date of his last patent, he declared his residence as Longwy.
He presumably died in Longwy sometime after 1934.
