LAMESCH Mathias

Mathias LAMESCH was born in 1869 in Dommeldange/Eich, son of a Schlosser.
He became a Schlosser, like his father, and resided in Bonnevoie in 1893 when he married Eva ARENDT. LAMESCH worked for the “Chemins de fer Guillaume” in Bonnevoie.
In 1899 he was promoted from Vorarbeiter to Werkführer. He took an interest in local politics and was elected to the Hollerich local council in 1913.
His wife Eva ARENDT died in 1915 at the age of 47. The couple had no children.
In the years 1916-1917 LAMESCH was échevin in Hollerich. In 1918 he married Maria HOESDORFF with whom he had a daughter.
In July 1918 he set up a Buch-Handlung, Papier und Schreibwaren shop in Bonnevoie.
Mathias LAMESCH died in 1936 in Bonnevoie. His death announcement read:
